1. Use a checklist

To clean each section of your workplace, use an office cleaning checklist, or divide up office cleaning chores at work. Then, print the PDF and post it on the fridge so everyone can assist, or use it as a reference as you clean the office to ensure you don't miss anything.

2. Office cleaning

We do a lot more than simply work when we sit at a desk for long periods. Every day, we chew, cough, sneeze, touch, and spill. So it's no surprise that our offices soon turn into a microbiological zoo. On top of the germs is the clutter and filth of our hectic life, which has to be sorted and cleansed.

  • Dust: Wipe clean all surfaces with a moist microfiber cloth. Remove any papers, file folders, staplers, calendars, and other things off your desk so you may clean them. Power strips behind your desk, fan blades, the top of your monitor, window sills, and the tops of picture frames are all places to look.
  • Vacuum: Work from the top down. To thoroughly vacuum each surface on your desk and in your workplace, switch between the upholstery brush, narrow attachment, and carpet attachment. Pay close attention to the areas you dusted, then vacuum up any loose dust that the cloth did not collect.
  • Disinfect: Sitting at our workstations, we touch a lot, forming new micro-bacteria colonies with every keystroke, mouse click, and phone call. Disinfect the mouse and office phone, including the keyboard, and mouthpiece, headset.

3. Office organizing

Clear the clutter off your desk and tidy it. A well-organized desk aids in mind-calming and thought organization. Your stress level will decrease, while your productivity will increase.

  • Remove any unnecessary clutter. A few plants, photographs, or souvenirs are fine.
  • Organize your desk into two "zones": one for computer work and another for non-computer tasks.
  • Zip ties can be used to keep electrical cables together and prevent them from forming a cord nest.
  • Keep a trashcan at your desk to make it quick and easy to dispose of garbage and recycle documents.
  • Items that don't yet have a home on a desk need a spot to call their own. Keep these objects out of the way by placing them in a document tray or a file drawer.

4. Focus on detail

Keyboard cleaning

Germs and muffin crumbs that can't seem to get off your keyboard's crevices. If you're cleaning on a laptop, make sure it's turned off. Use these keyboard cleaning strategies to keep germs at bay:

  • Shake it out! You may do this outside or over a garbage can.
  • To remove any lingering dust or food particles from beneath the keys, use a can of compressed air.
  • Swipe cotton swabs between the keys after dipping them in alcohol.
  • Wipe the top of the keyboard with a disinfectant-coated cloth.

Computer Monitor cleaning

A smudge-free screen and a dust-free ventilation system will help you keep your monitor cool and your eyes happy. Close your laptop and clean your screen and keyboard at the same time if you use one.

  • Unplug the monitor, then use a moist microfiber towel to clean it down.
  • A vacuum cleaner with an upholstery brush may be used to clean out the vents.
  • To clean the glass, use a towel sprayed with glass cleaner.
  • Remove any leftover dust from the corners and crevices with a can of compressed air.

Office chair cleaning

You can concentrate on your table, but don't forget about your chair. On the work, your office chair physically supports you.

  • Vacuum any loose dust or dirt with an upholstery brush attached to a vacuum.
  • To clean water-safe upholstery, pour rubbing alcohol and 20 drops of essential oils into a spray bottle. Use this to disinfect and remove stains from textiles.
  • To clean leather office chairs, combine dish soap and warm water. First, wipe the leather with the solution, but don't soak it. After that, condition the leather using a leather conditioner.
  • You may use an all-purpose cleaning spray or a microfiber cloth to wipe off any hard surfaces or components.
